2022 WRAPPED IN A NUTSHELL

As I entered 2023 with a reading challenge of 100 books, as you can see on Goodreads. I have a wrap up party of my 2022 books. I had a reading goal of 50 books but I ended up reading 52 books and I am so happy. It was my first year taking up the challenge and I am glad I could complete it let alone even exceed it.

So here we go: my 2022 books wrapped up in cozy books!

  • The book I hadn’t expected would make me go crazy but it did

Hook Line & Sinker by Tessa Bailey

I am so absolutely in love with Fox Thornton and Hannah Bellinger I can never get over these two and their love. I was rooting all along for them to end up together and the epilogue did so much justice to it. I definitely recommend it, if you love slow burn romances, opposite attracts and lots of spice. Tessa Bailey is definitely my go to author.

  • Now the book which I didn’t expect will steal my heart when I was just looking for some easy read.

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

No matter what other people say Dean Chapman is the best man ever (you might hear me say to all my other book boyfriends too) Dean was so amazing but if you ask me I loved Solange’s growth, the family interactions and the amazing introduction to Brazilian culture. If you are looking for good romance books, spice, strong female protagonists, and want to learn about new culture then The Wedding Crasher is for you. Go ahead and read it!

  • It’s time for one heck of a book, I can read it again and again and never get bored. Yes, you heard it right!

The Kiss Quotient & The Bride Test by Helen Hoang

Although both books are super hyped on tiktok and Instagram it’s all worth it. There have been hyped books I’ve read (you can check my goodreads for that) but according to me they weren’t. But, you might like it. Coming back to Helen Hoang books, she has a way with words and the amount of spice the book has is just woah! The books not only just have spice but also deal with ADHD, mental health, poverty, society pressure, status and so much more. If I say I loved Michael Phan then Khai Diep will say hold my champagne. I definitely recommend reading Helen Hoang’s works. They are simply amazing.

  • Let’s head onto a book which I thought might not like it but had me hooked since page one.

The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams

I had read mixed reviews about Cheat Sheet and I had read It Happened in Nashville series and wasn’t that happy with it but honestly the current work of Sarah has hooked me up. I am in love with Nathan and but to my dismay he is in love with Bree and I am okay with it. This story is a laugh out loud, fake dating, friends to lovers sport romance and if all of these are your favourite trop go ahead and dive into it. I bet you’ll even love the side characters and there is never a dull moment in it. What else do you need in a romcom?

  • Well, what we have here is something really amazing, this book blew my mind and I devoured it in one sitting. I want a husband like him. Get me one, please!

Marriage for One by Ella Maise

I want Jack Hawthrone just for me but he is too damn loyal to his Rose. Ella Maise sure knows her way with words, absolutely delighted to read this book. It’s my first book by the author and definitely never the last. Very easily she has become my favourite author. Rose and Jack are married for convenience and let me tell you Jack might be grumpy but he is cinnamon roll for Rose. A little harsh in the beginning but his actions speak louder than his words and Rose is definitely going to steal your heart. If you love slow burn, forced proximity, marriage for convenience, grumpyxsunshine tropes this one is definitely for you.

  • Now it’s time for some emotional rollercoaster ride where you’ll laugh, cry and root and hate the couple at the same time.

The Godparent Trap by Rachel Van Dyken

First, I didn’t think this book was actually going to be worth it, I had randomly picked up the book and honestly hadn’t paid much attention to what I would be expecting. Just the book blew my mind. However, I don’t know what parents in their correct mind would keep their child’s name Rip but we have our main lead name Rip here, so yea! This book is about grief, loss, pain, death, love, forced proximity, slow burn and altogether heartbreaking. You will love the characters by the time you will reach the end of the book. If you can handle heavy topics, loss of loved ones but also slow burns then go for it. You’ll love it.

  • Since we are on rollercoaster rides and second romances I can never forget the one which is the most underrated book in my list, currently and this book needs all the hype other hyped but average books have.

The Co-op by Tarah Dewitt

Oh my my, I want a love like they have. It’s one of favourite couples of the year and absolutely favourite book of the year. The amount of tropes this book has and incorporated so well with the story I am left in awe and the book alone made me the author’s fan. Opposite Attracts, Childhood Lovers Reunion, Enemies to Lovers, Forced Marriage of Convenience, Forced Proximity, Slow Burn, Second Chances – you read it right, too many tropes and such a heartbreakingly phenomenal book. Damn! I suggest you read the book and hype it as well. I was left speechless and I bet you will be too!

This one was recommended by Instagrammers and I am glad it was recommended. It’s a long slow burn book which will burn you but make you fall in love too.

The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata

Mind you if you touch Vannesa, Aiden is going to break your goddamn bones. Beware! The book sucked me in like no other and I am so in love with Aiden and the things he does for Vanessa but I am more in love with Van for being such a phenomenal person and growing up so well. Everything is slow to build in this book. The brownie points are you are never bored, although the book is very lengthy but you are filled with love, laughter, confessions, insecurities and one hell of dialogues. Despite the fact that The Wall of Winnipeg And Me is unmistakably a sports romance novel, I firmly believe that it is a book for readers of all backgrounds and tastes due to its authenticity, honesty, and the natural rather than forced connection between the characters.

The last in the list and definitely not the least as I have so many books to add but I have to end it here as it’s my wrap of best books of 2022. This book left me speechless in every possible way. The complete series is so phenomenal I could never get over it. I was starstruck with the characters and the love between them of course the spice too.

Stay a Spell Series by Juliette Cross

I am stunned with the magical universe created by Juliette and I can never get over it. I could hardly breathe due to the intense chemistry between the characters and the mystical mythical world that centered around them. By far this series has caught me off guard. I read many series this year but it left me shell shocked. The series have some major slow burn, enemies to lovers, second chances and most of the story centers around mates. The book has sexy romance set in a fascinating setting with Witches, Werewolves, Vampires, and Grims. You should read this book if you like enjoyable romance, thrilling action, fantastic supporting characters, and a pair with wonderful chemistry.

These are my top books of 2023. Here I end my wrap but there are many books I’ve loved and yet to write a review. Stay tuned for my reviews and upcoming reads of 2023.
